The SuperMoon is a phenomenon we haven’t seen in over 20 years! The moon will reach it’s closest point to Earth this Saturday March 19, 2011! Better news is that it will actually be a full moon during this peak time, leaving many people with hopes to have an impressive moon to look at tomorrow night.
You may ask yourself why this matters! The main reason is that the closer the moon is to our planet, the bigger it will look! While many people are looking forward to tomorrow night, the difference in size might be as little as less than half of one percent.
With the moon being closer, it will also have a stronger gravitational pull – this means slightly bigger tides and maybe waves. Scientists are saying we don’t have anything to worry about from the extra G-force on our waters!
